Has EBay ever crossed your mind as a place where you could DOMINATE marketing your favorite affiliate program?

Probably not…

99% of affiliate marketers would NEVER think about EBay as a place to DOMINATE affiliate product sales, and even if they did they wouldn’t know how to do it.  But I do and I’m revealing it to you RIGHT NOW.

I’m here to tell you that EBay is a goldmine for that very reason.  Now, you can’t directly market an affiliate product or program on EBay according to their terms and conditions, but a Ninja affiliate marketer knows how to do it within the rules.

How?

Well, its simple. Lets say that your affiliate program has to do with a health and wellness product.  You can use some of your knowledge about the product and create a simple downloadable report called, “5 Steps To A Flat Stomach Without Surgery, Dieting, Pills, Or Exercise.”

On EBay, you could sell that report for $1-$2 dollars and have it downloaded 100′s of times, and throughout the report are the direct links to that actual affiliate product that you so eloquently wrap around your 5 steps program.

Within your report/ebook, your affiliate links will generate sales for many months later.  So in reality, you get paid TWICE. First for selling the book, then when they actually buy the product.

How To Creatively Use Affiliate Programs To Get New Reps For Your Business

One of the coolest ways to generate traffic for anything you do to make money online, especially if you are operating a home-based business, is to use the leverage of an affiliate program.

Now, although you can earn a full-time income selling affiliate products, the focus today is using them as a “dangling carrot” for something else that you are building. In this article I’m going to lay out the way that I use them to attract new reps for my primary home-based business opportunity.

What is an affiliate program? In 50 words or less, its a system used by individuals or companies to build a sales force to help market their products or services and split the profits with you.

If you sign up for the Amazon.com affiliate program, they will pay you a commission on those individuals that you refer to their site. Its a great way for them to spread the word without a lot of advertising expense as well as build a list that they can continuously market to for future sales.

Let’s focus for a moment on the list building component of marketing affiliate products to lead in to what I want to tell you today.

You see, any time you send someone to a website and they submit their contact information to acquire (X) from that site, you just generated a targeted lead for that company.

Every company has a primary “presentation” or sales pitch that they will be positioning in front of the leads that you send the moment they hit the website. A percentage of those leads will act on the offer and thus a sale is made.

*THIS IS THE EXACT FORMULA YOU NEED TO USE TO GET PEOPLE IN FRONT OF YOUR OPPORTUNITY USING AN AFFILIATE PROGRAM.*

So let’s talk about how to do this for your home business. I place an ad of some sort in the marketplace for the affiliate program and a prospect clicks on the ad to learn more. They are presented with the giveaway item (i.e. download, free training, etc.) and are asked to submit their contact information in order to get it.

When they submit their information, they are placed on my auto-responder list and the VERY FIRST MESSAGE they get is my “welcome” or congratulations video. In my “welcome” video, I congratulate them on downloading (or purchasing) the item. I then position my video as the “how to get the most out of your (X) product.”

I cleverly blend the affiliate program’s benefits with a complete presentation about my primary opportunity! Its a seamless process because I don’t market affiliate programs that aren’t directly relevant to my primary home-based business opportunity so it creates amazing synergy. Plus, I’ve told them that the video is going to show them how to get the MOST out of their program.

Wouldn’t you want to get the MOST our of a program you purchased? Of course! So they are psychologically compelled to sit through my entire presentation. LOL.  Check out this example of how I do this.

So here’s what happens: if they are interested in my primary opportunity, they will act on it. If not, I will still receive a benefit since that individual buys the affiliate program that they were interested in originally, and I STILL GET TO MARKET MY PROGRAM TO THEM IN FUTURE MESSAGES!

This past weekend one of my marketing pieces yielded 29 leads. That’s 29 new presentations for my opportunity that were potentially seen that day! I say potentially because not everyone opens their email or follows through, but even if only 30% of them looked at my presentation that’s still almost 10 presentations on auto-pilot.

I can tell you that one of the marketers that I respect the most has recruited well over 500 people into his business using this method. One of the biggest frustrations I’ve faced as a network marketer is getting leads to actually watch an entire online presentation.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve called a lead back, asked if they watched the video just to learn that they didn’t finish.  Can you relate to this?  In this article I’m going to share with you some of the reasons this happens and how to avoid the aggravation of dealing with this.

Now, there’s no presentation that’s going to get 100% of your leads to watch your presentation, but you can dramatically improve the number of leads that do in fact watch it in its entirety.  I believe there’s one type of presentation that gets the LOWEST conversion by far and you should avoid this type of presentation like the plague:

***THE CORPORATE PRESENTATION***

With few exceptions, sending someone over to your “canned company pitch” (which is how leads see this presentation) will get them to turn away faster than putting smelling salt underneath someone’s nose.  The reason is because most corporate presentations are not designed to invoke EMOTION out of your prospect, which is the single most important ingredient to any presentation.  So if you’ve been driving traffic to your company capture page with the company presentation and getting little or no results, now you know why.

If you want to have a presentation that absolutely rocks, you need to have POWER.  Check out this clip from one of my favorite movies, “Boiler Room.”  I want you to listen to the flow of how he presents to the prospects his opportunity.  Afterwards, I’ll help you dissect what it there and why I believe this is at the HEART of all highly converting presentations:

Here are the 5 dominant characteristics of ALL highly converting presentations, whether online or off.  See if you can pick each of these out in the video clip from above.

1.  Introduction/Attention-grabbing opening statement. This is the “shock and awe” moment that grabs the “throat” of your prospect.  You must create a “wow” reaction from your prospect very early and build on that.  You have to trigger a sense of intrigue, curiosity and anticipation for what’s to come.  It’s almost like a movie trailer; they take some of the best scenes from the movie and use those to excite you into coming to see the entire thing.  In like manner, you need to bring out the best elements of your business FIRST and then promise to deliver the details throughout the presentation.

2.  Identify/push on the pain. STORIES SELL, PERIOD.  You need to either tell your story or the story of someone that most of your audience can relate to.  Painting a picture of their suffering, being graphic, and getting them to identify with that pain is CRITICAL.  Did your prospect come to your presentation to find a solution to their problem, or to sit through a neat and tidy company overview of boring facts, figures, and bland compensation details?

3. The irresistible offer.  This is where the rubber meets the road.  You need to pile on benefits and make sure that they relate to the basic motivation of the prospect.  If you have a bonus to offer, this would be a great place to talk about it.

4. Your Unique Selling Proposition (USP). What truly separates you from others inside and outside your company?  Screen shots, letters, videos, testimonials, endorsements etc.  Flaunting your success and leadership qualities is appropriate here.  No different than presenting on your resume all the accolades you’ve built up with other employers.  We all love to work with successful people so don’t be shy about sharing the success of you, your team, or your team leader(s).

5. Call To Action. It’s not enough just to present your opportunity in a compelling way; ASK FOR THE BUSINESS!  Give clear and direction instructions on how to sign up NOW.  Be assumptive especially if you get the prospect on the phone after watching the presentation.  Your goal is to get the started, period.  The presentation is the main catalyst to making that happen. 

Here’s my version of this formula in action.

Here’s a couple of “extras” to keep in mind:

-Project confidence, control and leadership in your tone

-Be prepared; write out either all of the actual words or at least an outline so that your message is succinct

-Always assume that everyone will join (even though the won’t) and act accordingly

-Practice your presentation regularly and make improvements as you see fit

REMEMBER: there is no such thing as a perfect presentation; he who shows their presentation the MOST, not the BEST, wins.
