Yesterday, I got three different solicitations from network marketers promoting what Mike Dillard calls The N.B.T., or “The Next Big Thing.” I realize that this is commonplace, but eventually people will start to develop the “yeah, so what” attitude about all of this stuff. Now, don’t act like you don’t dismiss others when they come at you with their business, so you know EXACTLY what I’m talking about.
The MLM success formula that I use begins with creating uniqueness by promoting education rather than sales will separate you from all of your competitors in both your particular opportunity and all the other possibilities circling the globe. The question is, how do you create that uniqueness? One strategy is to use product/opportunity reviews. Let me explain.
You already know that no one likes to be sold, but everyone likes to buy on their own terms. So, rather than pushing out sales pitches, pre-launch promotions, and using the extravagance of “once in a lifetime opportunity” messages, sit down and write or videotape a review of your product or service.
There are some rules to this approach in order for this MLM success formula to work correctly.
1. DO NOT PUT A SALES SPIN ON THE INFORMATION – you have to think in terms of a book report. It has to be purely educational in nature, or it will not work.
2. Give a brief summary of the product/opportunity, then break down specific benefits that if offers.
3. Include 3rd-party information, quotes, and testimonies from individuals who have used the product/opportunity.
4. Highlight any personal benefits that you’ve received, but keep it low-key and matter-of-fact.
5. Conclude the review with a directive to get more information by clicking on a link, calling a number, etc.Once you’ve written or recorded your review, identify several places that you can post your review. There are free classifieds, online directories, video submission sites and a host of other places to post your review. If you have a nutritional product for example, locate publications that allow you to post articles or press releases about your category of product.
The idea here is to be non-threatening and position your information to a TARGETED audience. Everyone responds positively to education, so use this to your advantage. Don’t expect the phone to start ringing off the hook overnight; the key is to be consistent with the placement and make sure your audience welcomes the content, and you’ll have success.
