Don’t ever refer to your company as a “little business,” “something on the side,” “a part-time venture,” etc. Psychologically, you won’t ever give it the respect it deserves, which will dramatically hinder the booming success that it is capable of producing.
What you speak frames your universe, and most people don’t understand the power of words and use them to their own detriment. When you speak about your company in weak, ineffective terms, it gives your prospects permission to speak AND treat your company the same way. People want to be associated with massively successful people, places, and things. Position your company in that light in everything that you do and say.
Below are two examples of possible ads that can be placed to advertise your business. Read them each, and then answer the questions that follow:
AD #1:
“Diamond Cutters Marketing Group, a subsidiary of Beacham Holdings, is currently seeking qualified entrepreneurs to assist with the launch of their new Sports and Nutrition Division. The ideal candidates will possess a strong desire to own and operate a turnkey business system from a virtual office offering high quality products to the athletic community at large. EXPERIENCE IN MLM/NETWORK MARKETING is a strong plus and will be given special consideration. Pay based upon performance. Long-term residuals. To schedule an interview, please call 614-516-9906 or visit our recruiting website at http://www.StoneColdMillionaire.com.”
AD #2
“Looking to make an extra $5000/month part-time working from home? We’ve got the absolute best opportunity! Pays down multiple levels. We build the downline for you! It’s so easy, even a child could do this! Get paid to do nothing! Don’t wait another minute…sign up for only $25.00 – get first check tomorrow! Go to www.RoyalBullCrap.com and sign up today!
How does each ad “feel” to you? Which one would attract lazy, “get rich quick” minded people, and which one would attract high quality, business minded entrepreneurs?
The point here is, the language of each ad clearly targets a particular type of individual. Personally, when I get up in the morning and go to my “office,” I think about the multi-billion dollar corporate sponsor backing my company and the millions of dollars that they have set aside to pay the people who have the largest and most successful network.
I’m after the biggest possible piece of that pie, so when an individual calls or emails me about my company, I treat it like I have to fill an executive position with a six-figure salary attached. Believe me, if you were hired to run a company and needed staff to run it, you wouldn’t put just any old “suit and tie” that walked through the door at a desk, now would you? So, why would you treat your own company any different?
Raise the bar on your words and activity, you raise the bar on all the possibilities of success.
